I forbindelse med Skagen International Opera Masterclass 2019 har du nu muligheden for at overvære deltagerne i arbejdstøjet. Hele fire arrangementer har offentlig adgang, bl.a. afholdes 2 koncerter, hvor publikum har mulighed for at høre, hvad sangerne har arbejdet med i løbet af ugen.

Årets hold af sangere repræsenterer et stærkt felt af konservatoriestuderende, elever fra operaakademiet ved Det kgl. Teater samt sangere i professionel karriere, og deltagerne kommer Danmark, Sverige, Norge, Finland, Frankrig og Argentina.

Koncertprogrammerne vil blive fastlagt i løbet af ugen og vil bestå af arier, lieder og ensembler for de stemmertyper, der er til rådighed på masterclassen.

THE TEACHERS
Susanna Eken and Anne Margrethe Dahl are the main teachers, and will trough their individual experience and unique collaboration, explore methods of working with classical song literature. Based on an individual analysis of each singer’s level, characteristics and possibilities the lessons will include mental focus, vocal techniques, text analysis, role analysis with the goal of achieving the highest level of communication from the stage. Furthermore the Master Classes and workshops are accompanied by three outstanding pianists of the very highest level all experienced in working with young singers: Neville Dove, Orsi Fajger and Sofia Wilkman.

04.06.19: Orsi Fajger has unfortunately been prevented from participating in the Masterclass. Instead, we look forward to working with the international songcoach and pianist, Mikael Eliasen. - Check out his impressive CV here.

GUEST TEACHER
Finally the recognized danish opera singer and cultural entrepenuer, Jens Christian Wandt will tell his own story succeeding in using his musical talent as a cultural entrepreneur. Jens Christian Wandt is among other cultural events the mastermind behind The World Ballet, which in less than 10 years has become one of the most mentioned cultural events in Denmark.

Workshops and masterclasses will be held in a professional environment and are open for passive attendance. The lectures will be in English. 

THE MASTERCLASS OFFERS

• 2 x 45 min. with Susanna Eken  (with accompaniment)
• 2 x 45 min. with Anne Margrethe Dahl  (with accompaniment)
• 2 x 30 min. solo coaching with Neville Dove, Orsi -Fajger or Sofia Wilkman
• Ensemble singing with Orsi Fajger and Nevil Dove
• Open lecture with Susanna Eken (1 hour)
• Open lecture with Anne Margrethe Dahl (1 hour)
• Evening lecture with Jens Christian Wandt (1 hour)
• Two public masterclasses with Susanna Eken and Anne Margrethe Dahl with nominated singers
• Concert at Skagens Museum. - In an environment of superb classical art the participants will perform some of the opera arias they have been studying during the course
• Final Concert at Kappelborg. - The participants will perform a full programme including opera arias and ensembles which have been studied during the course 
• Limited purchase of additional singing/coaching lessons will be possible DKK 500 (EUR 67) per lesson

NB! Each participant must bring arias and ensembles of his/hers own choice.

In order to get the best start of the course, we recommend you to arrive well in advance, so check-in at the hotel is done when you arrive at Kappelborg.

Departure on Saturday, August 17th at 11 am from Kappelborg
In order to get the best and most rewarding end to a fantastic and educational Masterclass, we expect you to participate in the joint completion on Saturday 

Course fee
DKK 5.100 (EUR 685)
including lunch, dinner and coffee/tea during the day at the venue. 

Application
We offer the Masterclass to a limited number of participants, så we recommend you to submit your application as soon as possible, but no later than medio May 2019. -  Please fill out the application form, and email it to us at opera(at)kappelborgskagen.dk. You find the application form here.

NB! Applicants are asked to forward a copy of their CV and to upload video/audio.

Admitted applicants will be informed in mid-May, and the full course fee will be charged immediately afterwards.

ACCOMMODATION
As a participant, you are responsible for your own accomodation, and we recommend you to locate your accomodation well in advance due to the many guests, who visit Skagen during the summer.
We have pre-reserved a number of appartments at Hotel Skibssmedien. The rate is favourable and the hotel is conveniently located close to Kappelborg (5 minutes walk). 

Price per person per day in shared 3-bedroom appartment DKK 500 (EUR 67).

All apartments are luxuriously furnished with 3 good bedrooms, bathroom with washer / dryer and extra separate toilet. Well equipped kitchen with all facilities, good dining area and comfortable living area. All apartments have a private terrace or balcony.
